Apt of Lies
10 mins or so ago, Maintenance came up to my apartment. The maintenance guy said that Ebony from the front desk wanted to know if I was still in the apartment since I'd left him some letter in the office saying I was moving out last week.

I told the maintenance guy that 1) I mailed my letter 2) Ebony demanded the full month's rent and it's not the end of the month yet and 3) I still have a lease here and until I have a -new- lease, Section 8 says I pay my portion and I'm golden.

I also mentioned this was the 3rd time Ebony had tried to pull something wonky about me and when I leave the apt - not that I think this maintenance guy will be a witness to anything. The individual who claimed they'd stand for me against the landlord was this person's brother and he's since left the building/landlord's employ.

Right now, I'm full of fuck you leasing office. And I'm praying that I get the best possible outcome with my next move.
