Gonna call and gather information later today and then follow up with a walk in appt on Friday. Can't think of anything else to do. Landlady to be responded with more than appropriate speed and earnestness - that helped a lot.

PS: If I'm assured that there was no right or need for landlord/leasing office to do this then I won't think of this as a mistake but more intimidation tactics.
