Odd Realizations
I can rattle off reccs of Anime people might want to watch, but yet I don't manage to get reviews up in spite of absolutely adoring some series or being surprised by others. Maybe I'm just not a review person? I have no idea. But it saddens me a little because I watch myself get all excited to recommend something to someone and break down the reasons why I enjoyed a thing, and realize that that it's a little joy I'm not otherwise giving myself unless someone happens to have an open recc post asking for things to watch/read.

I do not yet know the solution to this. But at least I've identified that there's something I want to fix.

I know what you mean. I still haven't gotten reviews up for all the movies that I loved over the summer, but to be fair, that's because I have little reason to talk other people into watching the stuff. I love the movies, but I don't feel any need to make other people love them as well. It's enough for me to just enjoy the movies on my own and have them to rewatch if I want.

For you, what would be the point of writing a review? What's your impetus?

I wonder if it's a case of meaning to use a review in a certain context, but not getting round to it and then feeling like the moment has passed? I was like that for ages about reviewing books, so I started keeping a private post for book reviews, and then making it public each month. So now there's always somewhere that I can pour the review, even if a review doesn't fit my blogging intentions on a given day when I've just finished a book and am full of enthusiasm...
