There is nothing like looking at documentaries and newsreports and hearing: Bisphenol A, plastics, endocrine disruptors, diabetes, obesity, hyperactivity and insufficient studies on possibility of affects to human bodies. Followed by; 11 year delay on previously demanded screening. And then looking at myself and at people I know and thinking of all our symptoms.
Combined with: Monsanto, genetically modified crops, insufficient studies, cross pollination of former employees now in government/regulatory positions (including Clarence Thomas), pollination accidental or not with GMC pollen leading to demand for royalties because of patent, and Europe and Canda banning things the US hasn't.
Where are all the people claiming Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve to shout 'Man Cannot Play Deity With The DNA of Plants' or 'You Can't Patent Food'? They're busy I'd guess.
*stares at info all mind blown*
Yeah I stopped watching news on tv. But according to some stuff I've seen that wouldn't have mattered, considering Fox News pulled investigative reports, fired the reporters who wouldn't lie to soothe lawyers and big business and then won during their day in court when sued. I also don't live in Minnesota - so no Minnesota Newspaper Expose - or Japan or Germany.
... Since I'm too broken to go live on a farm out in the middle of nowhere and grow my own food (and that wouldn't help me against transgenic pollination mutating my food since pollen flies on the wind (as do weed killer when misted/sprayed) I'm gonna wait till I'm feeling stronger before researching what an average city dweller can try to do.
But more words I learned today?
* food disparagement laws (and it ain't all Oprah and beef)
* rBGH / Posilac
* principle of substantial equivalence

In light of the fact that the last post about my feelings and a certain game, I'm being told, will hit Metafandom and that I just posted about feeling disconnected from Meta fandom - I think I've figured out what I was feeling.
BURNT OUT.
Every week, every month there's another incidence of people not thinking and then it goes round and round the blogjournalsphere and others comment about how much there is a lack of thinking; don't appropriate, don't use the site of genocide for heart to heart buttsex, don't use a title in genocide for a game, don't attempt to decide what is painful and triggering and invasive and sexist/racist/ablist/cis-ist (cisgenderist?) for those to whom it's an every day thing.
I think I felt that Metafandom too often showcased that things aren't fixed, aren't even slowly mending. And occasionally there's a splash of issue of the week where one stumbles across someone writing who obviously doesn't have a clue it's just the rest of their flist is all talking about 'the thing'.
*breathes*
So yeah, I'm guessing this was a conservation of energy thing I was feeling and questioning.
Also, I'm a chronic pain sufferer, with a mental diagnosis - thus disabled, black, lesbian, non-Christian, Jewish, immigrant. No wonder I'm effing exhausted. And no wonder I've been so angry about what's happened in the femisphere recently. I live intersectionality. How the hell am I supposed to rip myself apart to shove some piece up front before the rest, according to the core within movements that only pay attention to ONE thing. Their thing.
So yeah, BURNT OUT on dealing with those who aren't living and breathing activism, in whatever form they take it, but with their eyes and ears always open and aware. This is not a cause for me. This is my life. That would change how I relate to things.
ETA: Oh the other hand, if the upset post does hit metafandom, it will remind me of which individuals on livejournal are still my people.

I thought the accounts of paypal sucking were inflated for emphasis. Then a friend, on this iJay flist experienced step by step the exact same kind of fraud that's been happening.
Seller sends item. Buyer sends fees. Buyer claims seller somehow defrauded or made unauthorized charges to account. Things go to paypal complaints. Buyer gets their money back. Seller gets NOTHING.
In my friend's case she'd already transfered the funds over. So now her paypal account is in the red for a serious chunk of cash.
I just closed my paypal account, told them what I think of this consistent tendencies regardless of documentation and called them liars and cheats too! Seriously what does a seller have to do? Take photos that are time stamped of the item in a box, in the post office with a random postal worker there as a witness? All before sending it off? Because of these criminals does every seller now need to treat every buyer as a potential liability? I refuse to be part of that. ETA: I do also have a problem with when a buyer gets fleeced. It seems that paypal believes whomever files first. If the seller talks you into waiting longer you lose that right/ability.
